CTY Greece ignites a passion for learning in high-ability students (in Grades 2 to 11) by offering exceptional educational experiences. Our mission? To nurture intellectual curiosity and empower young minds to reach their full potential.
Mission & Vision
At CTY Greece, our mission is to solidify and reinforce a leadership role and capacity to serve as a reference point for Gifted Education in Greece. The Center identifies high ability students and supports them through extra-curricular programs that meet their learning needs and interests. Equitable access to its transformative programs is made possible through the wide scholarship program, with over 50% of students attending on some form of scholarship.
CTY Greece supports educators by disseminating best teaching practices and offering professional development opportunities through workshops, enabling them to identify and support their high-ability students in their regular classrooms.
In every endeavor, we are guided by our unwavering commitment to the advancement of Gifted Education in Greece and our passion for cultivating intellectual prowess, fostering inclusivity, and shaping a brighter future where gifted individuals flourish and contribute significantly to society.
A Legacy of Excellence
CTY’s roots trace back to the 1970s and the groundbreaking work of Dr. Julian Stanley at Johns Hopkins. Inspired by the needs of exceptionally bright students, CTY was created to provide stimulating academic challenges that matched their advanced abilities.
Building on this legacy, CTY Greece at Anatolia College is a unique collaboration between three esteemed institutions: Anatolia College, Johns Hopkins University, and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. Together, we’ve established a center unlike any other in Greece and Southeastern Europe.
Identifying and Developing Talent
At CTY Greece, we take a two-pronged approach:
- Talent Identification: We utilize specialized testing to pinpoint academic potential in students.
- Talent Development: We offer a variety of engaging and challenging programs (residential, day, online, and weekend) tailored to different age groups and interests. These programs, some college-level, accelerate learning, enrich knowledge, and equip students with the skills they need to thrive.
