Lion Shipbrokers is a family-owned, independent shipbroking firm, incorporated in the Marshall Islands with operations established in 2011 in the port of Piraeus, Greece, the largest Ship-Owning nation in the world.
The ancient statue of the Piraeus Lion which is proudly standing at the Piraeus harbour’s entrance was the inspiration behind our Company’s name & logo: LION SHIPBROKERS deriving from the Ancient Greek word Λέων (Leon).
In 2018 we moved our offices to the Athens Riviera’s suburb of Voula.

MEET OUR LIONS
Panos Pantos established Lion Shipbrokers in 2011, where he is heading the Sale & Purchase, Demolition & Newbuilding desk, while he is responsible for the day-to-day management of the company.
He has 26 years of industry experience that includes 3 years as trainee Marine Superintendent Engineer and 23 years as a Sale & Purchase shipbroker. During this period he has worked in the major shipping capitals of Oslo (Torvald Klaveness 2000-2001), London (Lomar Shipping 2001-2003), Shanghai (Optima Asia 2005-2008), Athens (Optima 2003-2005 & 2008-2010) & Piraeus (HSBC Shipping Services 2010-2011).
Panos is holding a B.Eng (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering, an MSc. in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (both from Salford University, U.K.) and an MSc. in International Trade & Transport from London Guildhall University, U.K.
He is a member of the Hellenic Shipbrokers Association (H.S.A.).
Diana has 16 years working experience and holds a BSc (Honours) in Business Management & a Master’s degree (MA) in Marketing from London Metropolitan University (U.K.). Having studied & worked in Singapore, Shanghai, Stockholm, London and Athens, she is fluent in Chinese (Diploma from Tonji University, China), Swedish, English and Greek.
Our Technical Consultant is having over 50 years of experience in the shipping industry. He served as Fleet Technical Manager for Greek owners managing 33 ships (Tankers, Chemicals and LPG Carriers and Newbuildings). He is an expert in ships repairs, conversions (from tankers to chemicals tankers IMO 2-3), as well as very well acquainted with all major classifications, ship yards, Oil Majors, H+M claims, P+I clubs etc.
